I tried to enjoy this book, but really didn't. I didn't feel connected with the characters or the theme. This was my first journey into science fiction, and it very well may be my last.

Really good twist, writing, and analogies! I kept forgetting that the main characters are all children, which made the appearance of two slurs feel like a gun being cocked in a dark room.

DID NOT FINISH

I don't know why I tried to read this, really I don't... I know Card is a Right Wing Asshole and that it came out in his writing from other books that I have read of his. I tried Ender's Game because I wanted to see the movie and thought I would try the book... Should have just watched the damn movie and forgot it was based on a book written by this ass. I made it 100 pages in, should have stopped at the point where he mentioned women were at a disadvantage due to evolution, but I pressed on noting that like Tolkien this is a world dominated by men/boys. The antisemitism, homophobic stereotypes and some sort of strange form of slang just got to be too much. Life is too short and my to-read list is too long to waste my time with this crap. I'm happy for those of you that enjoyed it, I just couldn't get past what I mentioned above, besides the story also didn't feel like it was going anywhere, not much was happening besides this one small boy being manipulated by adults who wish to use him.

Forever a favorite
