I was impressed with how insightful this book was. I enjoy science-fiction as a distraction, but this was more like literature. The novel is really about the training of soldiers and what a society will do to win a war, than about aliens.

After my husband nagged me to read this I finally gave in. I'm really glad I did to.
It's the first truly thought provoking book I've read in a long time. The entire time I was amazed that everything in the book that was happening to Ender was happening to a 6-12 year old boy. The way the children think and act in this book is above and beyond me.
At times the book is violent. But the violence is necessary to the story. When ender defeats something he defeats it so completely that he destroys it and each time destroys a piece of himself because he doesn't want to be violent. Even though each time he uses violence it's necessary, he punishes himself for it.
Ender is a sad character that is to be pitied but he is also a strong character who is to be cheered for.
I recommend this to everyone.

I really enjoyed the pacing and story. I think i struggled to understand certain terms and ideas in the book as there isnt a huge focus on world-building. I liked the end, i feel happy without reading the rest of the series which i like

I'm listening to this book for the second time because it was recommended by a friend that I finish the entire series this time.
And goddammit if I didn't forget how hard Ender's Game went. This book suckerpunches you in the face from the jump and doesn't stop until the last sentence. Hell, even that was a blow. But I'm ready for book two!

I read this book because I loved the movie. This has so much more detail and depth than the movie. I found it dark in the way that they were using children as pawns and pushing them too hard in the way of battle and putting so much pressure on them for the war. However the characters themselves realize that too. It was a very interesting dystopian world. I read it over a longer period of time, but I do feel like the story itself could have moved a bit faster. The detail with Peter and Valentine was interesting but I am not sure how relevant to the overall story it really was. It was more so confusing for me. Overall a very interesting story and I plan to read the main series.
