Ender's Game

wow, I really enjoyed this much more than I thought I would. the book was morally ambiguous from the start and it pulled it off throughout. Ender is such a tragic figure but is redeemed somewhat in the end. I even enjoyed the weird ending and the sense of hope and peace it gives to the story. very well done, wish I would have read it sooner.

5*

The ending I think is the most redeeming part of the story - tbh would like much better to read the story from the perspective of the hive queen/the buggers. Despite being the main character, I didnt feel like Ender was particularly well developed or complex - same with every other character. A lot of notes of sexism throughout which, learning more on the author, is not a surprise. Overall a very average read, predictable.
