i guessed who the killer was as soon as they were introduced but it was still an enjoyable read
Really cute mystery about a small town librarian and her magical cats. There was a good build-up throughout the book, but the ending was felt rushed. It just sort of ended up being like a info-dump. But I enjoyed it for a light read. Great for those who like cozies.

I can't rate higher than 3 because I couldn't gel with the murder mystery plot (I don't really read Cozy Mysteries for this reason), but loved the magic, cats, and bookish setting.
Thought it would be a pleasant read - kitty cats! libraries! - but it turned out to be kinda bland. I'd lost interest in the mystery by the time we got to the denouement.
I really liked this book but some parts just dragged on to much. There was also a lot of characters that made it a little hard to keep up. I loved the cats. Besides the parts I mentioned, I really liked. I will continue to book 2.
Sofie Kelly is one of my new favorite mystery authors. Her books are so much fun, even though there is usually a death or something scary that happens.
The magical cats, Hercules and Owen, sit close to my heart, being a cat lover and an avid reader, I can almost feel as though I'm being transported with these books. Almost as though I'm the main character, Kathleen.
Very well done, and I'm anxious to see what other books of Ms. Kelly's I can find!

Read this as my "Book with a cat on the cover"requirement for Popsugar's 2017 reading challenge. I had no idea there was an entire genre devoted to cats helping people solve mysteries, but go figure. Cats were definitely more interesting than their human counterparts.
