The idea was great and the book started really well, but at some point it got boring. Many scenes were not from cat's perspective, but from one of the characters. There was no connection with any of the characters, they lacked personality, and the cat was a constant irritation being ironic all the time.

This book sort of makes its predecessor irrelevant with how much it goes over the original details and expands on the story. I cried at the ending but it was very sweet.

Very endearing story! I recommend it for anyone who experienced that special bond with an animal that seems able to read your every feeling. The cat's mannerisms were exactly what I would expect. Plus, I really enjoyed the cultural glimpses I got into Japanese thought since this book was translated into English.
