Don't expect "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow". This book is more YA-ish, about a girl who loses her memory of the past four years in the early 2000s after a fall. That allows her to reevaluate her entire life but also creates a lot of tension and drama. I'm not a huuuuuge fan of the amnesia trope but I think it was well executed in this one. I enjoyed the book, the first half a lot more than the second half though. I'm a bit too young to get all the references, but the setting feels genuine, loved all the music and mixtapes. I might also interpret too much into it, but I saw some remnants of T&T&T in it. But overall it was a decent book but not mind-blowing. I enjoyed it nevertheless. 3.5 stars

Book was ok in the beginning. I got extremely annoyed with main girl (Naomi) and the love interest (James). She's selfish, overdramatic, and a ignorant bitch to her best friend Will (whom was the only character besides Alice and Yvette that I liked). I could sorta get her being a little rude cause of her amnesia, but she stayed the same even after getting her memory back, so that's invalid.James oh dear James. He was suppose to be a rugged new kid with a bad past. As Will put it he looks like the moody guy on a soap opera. One of the most annoying things is how he would bring up his dead family member without being asked, and in the next sentence be like "I don't want to talk about this." THEN WHY DID YOU BRING IT UP! I've conluced that he's just a very poorly written depressed teen. Ok that's enough of James. Last thing that kinda annoyed me was her cliche single dad. Her parents got divorced after someone cheated, and she now lives with her Dad. He lets her go anywhere with out asking, and does the whole "I don't know how to punish my kid cause apparently I've never had to ground my bratty 17 year old before.". Oh and how he reacted in the beginning with her getting amnesia, actually how everyone reacted with her having amnesia seems unrealistic. Like "You can't remember the past 4 years of your life? Ok well here's your room, I'm off to seclude myself in my office for forever. Catch ya later!"
Despite all of that, towards the end it got better. I actually liked most of it, but overall it's just an ok-maybe good book. I don't hate it, but also don't love it.
This book isn’t necessarily bad. The concept of four years of lost memory is very interesting. I just never found the point to it. I didn’t think the character development made much sense. The plot felt lost. There were major points that were mentioned at the beginning and then never referred to again. I wouldn’t say it’s a complete waste of time to read it, but check it out from the library instead of buying a copy.
What would you do if after a fall you didn't remember anything after puberty? Would you still be the same person? This books was great. The main character had to question her identity and rediscover who she really wanted to be.
When I saw this at a used bookstore after years of forgetting it even existed, I had to have it. I'm happy to see that Zevin is climbing the ranks again, because her early books definitely show that promise. Hope to return to this someday soon
*Shoutout to the girl who sat next to me in 8th grade band who recommended me the book. You're a real one.

As always, Zevin has a way of drawing you into the world she creates and keeping you there. This wasn't my favorite book ever and I found the ending a little disappointing, but I enjoyed it and I think it captures the feeling of being in high school well.
Naomi has a small problem. she fell down some stairs and has no memory of the past four years of her life. Everyone, including her boyfriend Ace, try to tell her what she has done, how she should feel, and how she should act.
But Naomi doesn't want to be told. She's not impressed with others' interpretations of herself. This is a blank slate to start over.
And then there's James. He too has a past he wishes he could forget. The two of them form a bond neither wants broken.
But what will happen when Naomi's memory comes back?
A great novel, well-written and funny.

The main character of this story loses 4 years of her memory in an accident. (It was almost like time travel). I found it interesting to read about how she engaged with high school with those missing memories and how she considered herself and who she was and wanted to be. It's a good high school story, well told. I got a little annoyed with one section of the book when I thought it should have ended, but the author did manage to finish well.
