Listened to audiobook. Pretty good, but I found it to be super repetitive. I haven’t listened to or read any other books by Brené Brown, but I’m curious to check out a few of her other ones. I liked what she had to say about teaching, working with students, and parenting. I didn’t love how she mentioned “daring greatly” at least 100 times in her 6 hour audiobook. Overall, interesting research, and quick listen.
I didn't want to read this, but it was better than I thought it would be. There was a lot of pablum for sure, but I got a few nuggets out of it.

There isn’t much to say other than this book is very insightful and helpful. Brown does an amazing job of keeping details and explanations simple while providing some amazing tools and strategies for dealing with shame and getting the most out of your vulnerability. Everyone can get something from this book.
I was so ready for this book...as a wife, mom, daughter, sister, teacher, leader, woman, human... I needed to hear the messages in this book for connection, for inspiration, for motivation, for hope. I started by reading, switched to audio. Listening again right away and will keep the book at work as a reference as soon as my husband is done reading it too!
I will say that I struggled with the beginning...I wasn't sure I liked the tone and found it slow at first, but really got into it after a bit!

Loved this book!! I was worried it was going to be “self-helpy” at first but it was much more research-based! This book has definitely changed my outlook on life for the better. Thank you Brené!

This is a book that I'll read over and over again. I have 34 highlighted passages from a 300-page book, so clearly it resonated deeply.
Although the book can get quite repetitive, Brene uncovers vulnerability and shame in a fascinating way. I felt seen and understood, and my perspective has been fundamentally shifted because of the little nuggets of wisdom strewn across the pages. I very rarely say that a book has impacted my approach to life, but I'm saying it now. :)
