Daring Greatly by Brené Brown is in my opinion one of the most relevant epic tomes of this day and age. I am not easily moved to tears but I found myself with wet eyes at various times whilst reading this book. Shame and vulnerability are no easy topics especially when viewed through a lens of the self and this book helps to walk you through the journey thereof. It will no doubt be a book that I keep coming back to in order to inspire myself to dare greatly as the name suggests.

Will re read ❤️

Rich, applicable, scientific study on connection between people - how shame disconnects and vulnerability opens the pathways for real connection. This book has been incredibly helpful for me to reconsider my relationships, my self-perception, and the kind of person I want to be.

Kinda preachy, even about stuff that seemed obvious to me (be honest, be kind, push yourself out of your comfort zone, etc. etc.). But the sections about shame vs. guilt were pretty eye-opening for me and are already helping me understand people a little better. So, overall, worth the listen!

I think I am the only person on the planet who has not drunk the Brene Brown Kool-Aid. This book just seems like common sense to me.

I give this 3 stars because I loved it and hated it. I found myself constantly wanting to discuss the concepts of the book but it was a real chore to read. This book is like 50 articles by the same author on variations of the same topic. It got very repetitive. However within the repetition were really brilliant gems about the nature of trying to be our best selves and why people are the way they are. I think I'll stick to articles and talks by this researcher.

Don’t try to win over the haters; you’re not the Jackass Whisperer.

Excellent. Brene Brown is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors on these topics. Some of the things in this book felt a hair dated, but I know that's because her recent books have more recent material. Loved reading something from a bit earlier in her career!

Awesome book for parents, leaders, and citizens of the human race.

A game changer. I read passage after passage to my husband (sorry, honey!) This book was inspiring and much needed in today's world. I wish all parents and leaders would read it.
