I'm not sure I'm 100% on the Brene Brown train yet but I can certainly appreciate some of her insights.

I struggled a bit with maintaining interest at points but I think there were still some insightful takeaways. I found the part about foreboding joy really relatable as well as her descriptions of "floodlighting" and "smash-and-grab" sharing as misguided ways of connection-seeking. I feel like this book is often recommended as part of leadership training but I almost feel like I got more out of it as an individual than as someone who manages people.

Overall... maaaaybe not quite as mind-blowing as the hype, but decent.

I really like everything that was said here, and I want to implement it in my life, but it was just said A LOT. Like, the same things over and over.

It was good and I learned quite a bit, but it could have maybe been condensed down some.

Definitely had some interesting concepts and ideas. Some of the vulnerability strategies I will probably put to use, but others made me a bit skeptical. Not as groundbreaking as I thought it might be overall, but not a bad read. Especially enjoyed the parenting section.

Well unfortunately this is my book club pick and I didn't enjoy reading it.
