Truly horrifying sense of dread through the whole book and particularly frightening by the fact that I can see this happening and I can see the people lining up to drink the Kool-Aid so to speak. Best horror novel I've read this year so far.

This book was soooo good. I will say at times I thought this book was moving kind of slow, mostly during flashbacks of the kids’ past. I didn’t feel super connected to any of the characters but the story is very well written and such a horrifying situation. Honestly just from reading the back of the book it was mostly what I imagined it would be, but that did not take away from how good this book was. Really just had a feeling of dread the entire time I was reading this! Also, randomly throughout the book you see news articles, interviews, etc explaining the back story and I really loved this concept. Kind of changed things up and makes it feel more realistic!

I went into this book blind all I knew was that it was a horror camping book. And from the first page I was hooked. If you aren't a fan of body horror then this book is definitely not for you. I was on the edge of my seat and couldn't put it down. I liked the fact that after chapters there were small news articles that go with the plot to help you understand things more and get a different perspective on things. All in all amazing book. 10/10 would recommend, if you can handle it 🤣
