I'm a reader in the most literal way possible. I prefer reading a book over almost everything. If there is a way to read a series instead of watching it, you can be sure that I will read it and will then add the series to the ever growing to be watched list. The list holding titles forever because I never actually watch anything. I therefore preferred reading this manga over watching the movie, although the trailers of the movie look awesome.

However, I'm discovering that I have a certain issue with the way stories in mangas are told. I assume it's something personal, since so many people love the genre and I'm finding out that it's happening across all the books, but I sometimes miss the connection between the previous page and the next one. It sometimes feels like mangas aren't telling the complete story. They're telling fragments and let you fill in the blanks. And I don't really like that.

The plot of this book didn't really convince me either. I assume, since it's not becoming clear from the description, that this is more of a prequel, or maybe the first part, to the movie. So it feels like the true punchline isn't there. Cruella feels quite directionless in this story. I can imagine that, considering the circumstances, she has been so for a while, but we know that eventually she got somewhere and I didn't feel like Cruella was already sort of going there in this manga.

However, I quite liked the drawings and I also loved the side kicks in this story because it felt like they got a little more background and most of all personality compared to the animation. I have to admit that I have gotten quite curious about the movie and how the manga relates to the movie and if the movie will give me that direction I'm looking for. But well, I somehow think that reading other books might happen before I will get to the movie. We'll see.

I liked it well enough but it was anything extraordinary. It started slow, got a bit better towards the middle and the last part was very short.

I haven't seen the movie and this manga is adapted from that so maybe I'd like that better. I have been told it is gorgeous pretty good.

while i haven’t seen the movie yet, but i found the manga to be a very interesting read, providing a fresh look into cruella as an indidual. it delved into the history of estella, which i didn’t know previously. (i’m unsure the movie goes over the details). being a movie adaptation, i really look forward to watching the new movie (yes, i’m surprised i haven’t seen it either!!)

the plot wasn’t particularly interesting, and i assume it’s of no fault to the author (being a film adaptation). the characters weren’t particularly likeable either. however, i found learning about the history of a disney villain to be very fun. i love villain origin stories, and will definitely enjoy reading more along similar lines.

while it wasn’t the best book i’ve read, it was still interesting and i devoured it in one sitting! i loved the artwork, and think the author did a fantastic job on what they had to work with.

There isn't really much to the story. It was interesting enough to read. It ends kind of abruptly, was hoping for more of her back story but it's nothing exciting. It's a small glimpse into cruella's backstory. Emphasis on small.

Wow.
This is the first manga I have ever read and it was so good!
I couldn’t put it down for a second even though I am very tired.
There were 3 incredible stories that any Cruella fan will enjoy.
I’m hoping there will be more mangas in the future.

I really didn't see the point. Hardly anything happens and there is no story. The artwork was good though.
