I love the artwork in this book. Very ghostbusters-like in terms of the story, but with a hint of paranormal romance. Overall, a good story with a sweet ending.

Kevyt nuortensarjis kummitustenkarkoitushommista, teini-ikäisyyden haasteista ja Yhdysvaltain orjuuden historiasta.
Lempeää kerrontaa, kivaa lapsi-vanhempi-suhteen kuvausta ja kaunis kuvitus.

I really like the art style! I also enjoyed how the plot is different to what I normally read. I’ve been in a reading slump so any book that captures my attention the whole time is very much appreciated. I was always interested in the plot while reading. I loved all the nature drawings when they were outside, and especially when the ghost cat was playing with butterflies. I really loved the drawings when the main character would see the guy ghost and flowers were surrounding them.
It was interesting how Chelsea could see the ghosts, I liked that and wanted her to be honest about it and have a conversation with her dad about it. I also loved when there would be a painting and the art style for that would make it look like an actual painting. I’d definitely want to read more books by these authors. I was enjoying the book a lot and I was expecting Chelsea to eventually ask if there’s a way to save the ghosts but then that never happened. That was really disappointing that her dad just zapped the ghosts when they were in the middle of a conversation. I thought them having the conversation might lead to closure and then lead to the ghosts being able to pass on. If she had talked to her dad about it preciously she would have known if there was anything else they could do for the ghosts but at the end of the book we still don’t know. I really don’t get why that wasn’t written into the ending, it ended so fast and abrupt. I was really expecting that to be a part of the story, we never even get to see Chelsea talk to him about it. I wish there were a sequel or some kind of explanation because the story really feels unfinished, there was no wrapping up that storyline of is there anything else they can do besides make the ghosts disappear. It was nice that we got to see Oliver again and the cat, but the way that the plot went with not letting the ghosts finish their conversation and the book just ending after that made me enjoy it less.

A bit of finding yourself, a bit of history, a bit of romance.
