Beautiful pin-up style art. Storytelling a bit scattered and episodic, but maybe it'll gel. Fun to see known characters reimagined, though I had to look up quite a few I was unfamiliar with.

I like the feminist slant, but wish women could be superheroes without wearing as little as possible.
The DC universe is always a little dark for me, and Bombshells is no exception. While I enjoyed some of the subplots, I'm not a huge fan, and I don't think I'll be returning to this series.
YASSSSSS! World War II + female superheroes = perfection!
Love the concept, the art, & the characterization, but thought the volume struggled with trying to introduce so many protagonists at once. Will continue reading, though!

5/5 Nazi punching, 3/5 story
In all seriousness, the "Bombshells" series was created specifically to give a storyline to the pinup statues DC was selling at the time. While this made me pretty skeptical going in, what unfolded wasn't as bad as I thought. As this was written in 2016, there are definitely some "girlboss feminism" undertones, but ultimately it's an alternate universe version about what would happen if superpowered individuals were around during WWII.

Thisssss book was so good! I wasn't expecting this. I actually don't know what I was expecting but I loved the historical background of WWII and the fact that there were so many DC characters involved! The artwork was ok and of course I noticed the changes between issues, but the plot was great! I can see why people may not like the fact that the main characters have their own backgrounds throughout the volume however I feel like it's going to all come together. I definitely feel like the writers invested time into this comic and I can see why people liked it so much! I definitely will be picking up the second volume.
