The last 150 pages were a 4.5 star, but the rest of the book felt very dragged out, and I skimmed some in the middle, the scenes that felt drawn out. I'm looking forward to the next book, though!

While mostly predictable, this was a really fun read. Way more action packed. I like where this series is going.

I'm enjoying the story but I'm just not sure about the writing, I think that's where I keep getting stuck. The way the characters are written, the the dynamics, the feelings, the connection, it feels a bit forced. Like some of it was written just to say it was written, if that makes any sense. Just seems a little off to me.
