That was fun! Picks up right where book #1 left off. There was a fair amount of restating the storyline, feelings among characters, and establishing the tension book #1 ended on, making for a slow build during the first third of the story. But it really picks up thereafter.

The story was an interesting mix of Rocky-esque training montage, sexual tension, and political intrigue. Lyr’s character really begins to come into her own, becoming more confident. Ryhan remains badass. And everyone else is more or less evil, save Lyr’s sisters who play a larger role in this book than the previous (I keep picturing Morgana as being played by Claudia Jessie from Bridgerton…).

It ends with a couple of twists that I saw coming - or at least were at the top of my list for how a number of storylines would advance.

I read this as soon as it was published after being hooked on the first book and I regret nothing. So, so, so good and the writing is just amazing!!! I have been waiting to read Solstice to prepare for Lady and now that it’s almost here I’m so excited!! Can’t wait for more Rhyan and Lyr, and Morgana and Meera even! Love, love, love!!
