Received this as an ARC and ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! Book 1 sucked me into this amazing world and it’s characters/creatures and this book floored me with the amazing detail and forbidden romance, “who touched you” and one bed trope. I can’t say anything other than this series is a MUST READ!

I am obsessed with this series.

So much better than the first one and we finally have some answers! Can’t wait for Lyr to stop being a punching bag and get shit done!

I do love this series. It took me awhile to pick up the second book because I just didn't want to get invested before it was completed. But absolutely worth the read. Lots of representation of mental, physical, and emotional labour of women in both this world and ours.

My only complaint was the pacing at some parts.

"Right or wrong, I'd break my oath a thousand times for you."

This series... look friends, I'll warn you now - this is going to the top ten.

Guardian of the Drowned Empire is an epic second book to what was already an amazing start in Daughter of the Drowned Empire. Frankie is an absolute force, and Guardian is immersive, engaging and powerful.

We waste no time jumping right back into where Daughter left off, and somehow, into a more compelling and unpredictable plot. Words can't even begin to express how deeply Lyriana's struggles and the cruelties against her have continually broken my heart, and yet, she continues to self-sacrfice, place the needs of others before her own, and hell, if her trials and tribulations do not stir something within me.
Rhyan, my heart breaks for him. That is all that can be said for our MMC.

Folks, this is indeed the ultimate slowburn. The romance is rich with angst and is one of the most compelling I have read to date.

Throughout this entire installment, I was taught with tension. Frankie takes the reader on a journey, blindfolded almost, I could not predict where we would end up. The plot pacing, though slow, was everything my little high fantasy loving heart desired. The world-building is incredibly original and lush. The lore behind this tale feels like Frankie spent years planning this world, evoking a sense of deep history woven throughout every word.

Mystery, intrigue, angst, romance, betrayal, political unrest, rebellion, hierarchies, and a touch of horror - Guardian exceeded my expectations.I am obsessed. I could sing praises for this series for years and surely, I will - but it would not be enough. Be warned. My feed will be alive with posts to honor this incredible series.

Yes yes yes! She’s here, she’s doing the work, she’s starting to see her greatness
