Quick read. Overall I liked this one. It read like a Criminal Minds episode to me.

Did not love Allison’s character.

Been a while since I read the age-gap romance trope but really enjoyed the dynamic between Allison and Mark. The book focused more on the suspense/serial killer, and overall it was very well written.

This was a great mix of romance and suspense. An actual mystery, which I enjoyed. The beginning felt like it jumped in really quick without any background but I caught up quickly and devoured this in one day.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My favorite of this series so far =D
As usual, I loved the very twisted and creepy plot with an extremely twisted ending that I hadn't seen coming at all but most of all, I loved the romance between Mark Wolfe the very squarish and impassive profiler and Allison Doyle the very human and brand new detective of the team ... <3
In short, huge crush on this book and this series <3
I enjoy most of Laura Griffin's books. This was a great story that was told well. It was both romantic and suspenseful. I love that she has created the Delphi Center as a realistic and interesting setting within her stories. It is so realistic, in fact, that I googled it mid-story to learn more about it and learned that it is completely fictional. Good and quick read!
Twisted
3.5 Stars
Rookie detective Allison Doyle is determined to prove herself. She seizes the opportunity when legendary FBI profiler, Mark Wolfe, arrives in San Marcos texas with a controversial theory on a high-profile murder case. Wolfe is convinced that the SMPD has the wrong man in custody and joins forces with Allison and the Tracers at the Delphi Center to find the real killer.
Unfortunately, this is one of the weaker installments in the series.
To begin with, Allison is one of the most TSTL heroines to ever disgrace the pages of a romantic suspense novel. She is constantly caught off guard and almost gets herself killed not once, but on three separate occasions. Moreover, she is completely out of her depth on the investigation, yet consistently challenges the more experienced and knowledgable agent and officers.
In addition, the romance between Allison and Mark is completely lackluster. Not only do they have zero chemistry, but the significant difference in their ages is off-putting. This is exacerbated by their first cringe-worthy sexual encounter, which she initiates and he immediately regrets. Mark's eventual acknowledgment of his feelings for Allison feels forced as it is unclear what the stoic and reserved FBI agent sees in the inexperienced and reckless cop.
The suspense plot is better than the romance. The investigation proceeds at a good pace with some interesting twists, and the forensics details are well-incorporated into the storyline. That said, the final twist comes out of left field, and feels tacked on rather than a natural resolution.
Overall, not the best book in this series. Hopefully, Kelsey's story will be better.
As soon as I got Twisted in my eager hands in late January, I devoured it. Laura Griffin is one of my favorite romantic suspense author and one of my few auto-buy. She is a damn good writer and she has yet to disappoint me. Although Twisted is not my favorite by her (Snapped is) but it's still very, very good.
The heroine, Allison Doyle, was introduced in Snapped and she certainly made an impression there. I knew she's going to be a kick-ass, tough as nails kind of gal and I was really excited to see what kind of hero the author will pair her up with. Has-the-weight-of-the-world-on-his-shoulders Special Agent Mark Wolfe who was 43 years old to Allison's 27 was not what I expected but they worked. The romance aspect was a bit more downplayed in Twisted than in the author's previous books but it was still well-done. The romance here unfolded slowly but it made it more believable--besides the fact that Mark and Allison's focus is on the case and trying to piece together the clues to catch the serial killer, they had a few big issues they have to work out (their age difference being one of them).
The whole time I was reading Twisted I felt like I was watching a really good episode of Criminal Minds. The suspense took center stage in this book and it illustrates that Laura Griffin is the queen of well-written, gripping, unputdownable mystery. If you haven't read the previous Tracer books, Twisted reads as a very good standalone but if you are following the series some of characters from the previous novels are secondary characters in this book and you'll get an update on what they've been doing which is always fun. Twisted is a very good addition to the Tracers series. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I am once again counting down until the next one by Laura Griffin. If you have not read any of Ms. Griffin's books, what are you waiting for?
I loved it but the romantic relationship was a bit too fast for my liking. Kinda.
