I’m just in awe at Kiran Millwood Hargrave’s writing. So emotionally rich, it’s beautiful. This is my second book of hers, and she has quickly become one of my favourite authors. The Dancing Tree is so devastating, yet so tender. Kiran Millwood Hargrave writes so powerfully about the endurance of women through real historical atrocities.

I loved this book. It made me cry in public. I also think in terms of accurately conveying what a religious worldview would have looked, sounded and felt like in medieval Europe it is an endlessly valuable novel.

As always, Kiran Millwood Hargrave’s writing is a loveletter to women. It is sad and tragic mixed with hope and such a soulful understanding of humanity I will be feeling this for weeks.
what a great read. i am not usually into fiction of any kind, however this historical fiction was fantastic! the pace was good and enough accurate historical references to keep me interested! i loved it, highly recommend! 5 stars it is :)
