I would've given a 5-star review if not for one chapter that was extremely fatphobic. The author equated body size to health and then goes on to talk at length about how to prevent excuses not to exercise. If you're interested in the book, read it and skip chapter 30.

I took this book out of the library in early March 2020, literally about 3 days before it (and everything else) shut down for months on end. I kinda skimmed through it and thought eh it's fine but maybe not for me but then it was the only newish book in my house and it was about a subject that was becoming increasingly urgent for me so I went back and re-read it, this time reading only a chapter at a time and doing all the suggested exercises.

I realize it sounds like hyperbole to say it changed my life! but really it genuinely did. It helped me so much to change the way not only I reacted to my own thoughts but also helped me define my personal values and look at whether I was living in a way that aligned with them.
