Was gifted this book by John Schumacher during a webinar through Rutgers. WOW! I'm so often in awe of first time authors, & this is one of those cases. This is a book that is devastatingly hard to read during the horrible bullying acts, but then leaves you proud & cheering during the parts where Eliana starts transforming. I had to grab paper & pen because there are sooooo many T.A.G.S. (that's a great sentence). It would be fabulous to use this story in health curriculum to deal with bullying, self-esteem, the power of friendships, etc. I plan to talk about this w/my 6th grade classes tomorrow & use some of my favorite lines as mini writing prompts all week. My hope is kids & adults will read this & stop bullying/learn the power of standing up for yourself & knowing you matter just because you do!
