The beginning: Awesome! The middle: eh. Seemed to drag on. The End: Awesome! Overall I enjoyed the book, but not a favorite of mine. Still would recommend to anyone looking for an interesting story, with mystery and a hint of romance.

I just finished rereading this book because I want to finish the series this year.

It was not quite as great as I remembered but I still enjoyed it a lot the second time around. 3.5* Review will be on my blog later.

While the world-building in this book is amazing, the pacing didn't always work for me. There seemed to be too many major revelations crammed into the last part of the book without much time to process them.

I think this book will be a delight for fans of Interstellar. Both aren't exactly similar, but the concept of frozen people traveling to another planet in a voyage spanning centuries fascinated me as much as Interstellar's "one hour equal seven years" concept. I was in constant awe throughout this book. How the writer described everything in so much detail felt so real. The idea of generations and generations of human beings born, raised and dying on the same caged ship is equally fascinating and horrifying. It made me appreciate the Sol-Earth more than ever. I really like how the writer thought out everything about how humans aboard the ship changed over the centuries, how animals mutated and food changed. It was all so. Cool.

So, what went wrong that I had to resort to a rating of three stars? Well, for starters, did we really need constant reminders of "Season"? "Oh, its Season. Its mating time. Look at all those people mating. Its that time of the generation. Season time. Season Season Season." F*** Season.

Second, it was totally insta love between Elder (I really hate that name) and Amy. And totally uncalled for. I get why Elder would be so fascinated by Amy, but Amy was really confusing about where she stood in her relationship with Elder, if at all.

Then there was the whos-unplugging-frozen-people plot. It was very intriguing but ending was a bit lame. This were pretty predictable as to who the killer might be, but I gotta admit the Plague revelation blew my mind away!

I really liked this book and I'm still in awe of the science of it. I need next book now!

This isn't my favorite genre, so I need something to compel my reading and I didn't find it. Interesting Ya novel with appeal to both genders but not a must read. Obviously part of a series so I'm sure the story will continue to develop.

After being cryogenically frozen, Amy is on her way to Centauri Earth. However, someone tried to 'kill' her, resulting in her waking up 50 years earlier. Or so she thought...

To me, this book is...
1) slow paced
2) less action, more mystery
3) a lot of why's
4) writing style is honest and straight forward.(Maybe a little too detailed for younger readers?)
5) somewhat a little predictable
6) the characters are amazing. (Amy is our typical teenage girl and Elder is a really sensitive guy)

Overall, I liked it. But some parts are almost unrealistic and unimaginable that it put me off a little. If you have read it, you know what I'm talkin' about.

I don't know. That's my opinion.
You should read to know. Happy reading...

I don't think it's possible to read a book with a Beatles-esque title and be disappointed. For the author's first novel, I didn't think this book was too bad; I absolutely loved her combined concepts of cryogenics, space travel, and dystopian society. The setting was very creative and well done, definitely nothing like I've ever read about before. Aside from the good points, I thought that the mystery of the murderer was a little too easy to solve, the characters could have been more developed and consistent, and the ending....Well, the ending wrapped up way too quickly, and wasn't quite what I was expecting. I don't know if the author has a sequel in mind, but if not, it was kind of an abrupt finish. Overall, a pretty good read.

I have had this book for over 3 years. All it took for me to finally read it was me getting sick of looking at it on my tbr shelf. My expectations were really low going into so I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this doesn't suck. I didn't fall in love with it or anything but it wasn't too bad.

The first half of this book is quite slow and boring and it definitely took me a while to get into the story. I didn't find the characters very likeable and I definitely did not like the romance aspect of this book. The story is also kind of predictable and it's annoying when the characters don't realise some very obvious things.

However, this book gets better as it progresses and the plot becomes more interesting. I wouldn't say I'm excited to read the sequel but I liked this enough that I will read it.

3.5 stars- Good concept, bad character development and SPOIL what was with the last 10 pages?
