The engineer is trying to repair the aqua-duct which has been damaged by the pre-eruption earthquakes. It is a good thriller that provides a comprehensive look at Ancient Roman Civilization.

An interesting read. A good re-creation of life in Pompeii and also at the time of the Volcano explosion. Definitely offers an insight to Roman life and the famous Roman aqueducts. Could have included more in the end on how the Romans were affected.
