In light of how much I love Field of Dreams, there was no world in which I wouldn’t love this book. That said, it really was a great book.

This book hit me in all the right places. This is another case where the book is better than the movie. If you love baseball—or maybe you are skeptical about the power of America’s pastime—this one is for you.

Slight content warning: this book is often listed as YA, but there is some sexual content that might not be beneficial for teen readers. Honestly, I was not expecting it.

This is one of those books that I always wanted to read because I loved the movie so much. And I bought it probably 20 years ago and I’ve never picked it up until now. And honestly, it’s just not for me which makes me a little sad.

Written in a strange and airy first-person voice. Much different than I expected, though I have never seen the movie. An interesting follow-up read after finishing Eight Men Out.
