In the beginning, I wasn't convinced. it felt rushed, predictable, but then it checked all the boxes for your standard, highly entertaining story with magic, discovering yourself, found family, city flourishing by being hidden, drama, love and death.

I urge fans of fae fantasy to go and pick this up!
I loved literally almost everything about this.
-I love the world building and magic system
-Its very well paced
-Found family is done amazingly and one of the best iv read
-Hilarious and amazing side characters
-Love interest feels like it could be a much messier in the second book as although i love them together... i could love another more- it felt way more natural and i think thats the purpose- LOVE a triangle situation.
Cannot wait for the second book!

If you enjoy main characters who learn nothing from their experiences and constantly blunder into the same mistake roughly 5 times, alongside them being unable to understand their own feelings, this book is probably great for you. The world is kind of interesting, though it's not exactly new or unique in the realm of fae, and doesn't really expand on anything in that vein.
