The first book in this series was such a great read, the second was fine too. This one, I'm not sure what happened. Paz is SUCH an unlikeable character I found myself rolling my eyes and having to take a break from the book. Alano is some sort of super genius but his language and the way he seemingly carries himself would  suggest otherwise. Alan knows the secret to death cast due to some "super power"? Ok, sure...but when he supposedly learned the secret isn't even possible, like at ALL. Not sure I'll read the next one, perhaps I'll give the audiobook a try instead.

Such a fascinating concept for a series - this one is very different from the others - a little dark, and difficult to read, since both boys have some mental health issues.

I have the same complaints as everyone else
1) why was this so long? It didn't need to be this long. The first two were nowhere near this long
2) this long and it still ends on a cliff hanger? Come on
3) having the word "suicide" (or similar) and "killer" almost every page gets old and repetitive fast
4) Paz is really whiney
5) a romantic partner should never be saddled with "saving" their partner from suicide or self harm
6) so many throwbacks to the first two books that some of it was hard to remember. Keep in mind the first book was published 8 years ago.
7) He found out the secret of death cast when? Oh eff off. I can't even with that nonsense.

I really wanted to like this. I LOVED the first one. Thought the second one was ok. This one was too long and it didn't make me emotional at all. So I think I will just read the spoilers for the next one. I'll pass on it.
