this book deals a lot with suicide, which was very hard to read. and on the other hand, there is not a lot happening. the secret of death cast is constantly being teased, but you don't get a resolution. the way this book ends definitely means there is a sequel coming, but this just wasn't a satisfying read?
like, why was this book 720 pages long if we still do not get the explanation everyone was waiting for since book 1??

I liked that the author tied the whole series together, explaining the connections between these two characters and the protagonists of the first two books. but overall, this screams "unneccessary filler book".

Paz wants to end his life, but death cast haven't called him, so he's trying to force the matter. Alondo is injured and running from his dad on the night Paz chooses and their world's collide.

I don't mind reading a long book if it doesn't feel like a long book, but reading this 790-page book was a slog. I felt every one of those 790 pages, and my gosh, I wish I had DNF it. But, the thing that kept me going was my love of the previous 2 books. They Both Die at the End made my top books of the year, I loved the premise, the characters, and the world the author built. So, definitely go read that.

I wanted to be back in that world, and unfortunately, I didn't enjoy it this time around.
I struggled with the characters, the premise, and the outcome. let's not even go there, shall we.
There are massive triggers throughout for suicide, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, alcoholism and death.

I'm giving it a two star and not a 1 star, because I did like the moral questions asked within about Death-cast and whether it was a good or bad thing.

The Survivor Wants to Die at the End is a pretty heavy read compared to the rest of the series. There is a lot of trauma unearthed and vivid scenes of self-harm as well suicidal thoughts and attempts. That being said, I love the way this book ties into the others…and the cliffhanger…I need the next book now.

Not perfect prose but intensely readable. Very focused on suicidal thoughts, so read cautiously.

It was an okay read! 👀
the last page reading us with a second part. Im excited but also a little disappointed that this many pages couldnt fit the full story, because i think it could've worked out.
