I really loved this. A really strong ending to an amazing series. The pace kept moving and the characters continued to face challenges that weren't repetitive or boring. I truly wasn't sure what was going to happen with the final battle and the emotional moments got to me.

Why do I keep trying to read this series when I truly cannot ever remember a thing about the books? I didn't go back and look at my last review before writing this but the only thing I can remember is writing that I can't remember a thing about this world or its characters. I tried to read a cliff notes style synopsis online and it jogged no memories at all. I think I have to give up here, people are loving this but it just feels to me like a little bit of every other romantasy on the market with nothing to make this one stand out in any way. It's fine, I didn't dislike it. But it has already immediately fled my brain

Having concluded the trilogy, I can now surmise that I liked it. I just hoped that I would end up loving it because the structure of the story and its characters were so great and so well-written. Kane and Arwen's story faced countless trials, and I loved how everything tied up in the end.
Griffin and Mari, on the other hand, had so little of their story told and no closure at all. However, I think the reason why the author didn't finish their story is because she's setting up for a spin-off, maybe with Griffin and Mari as the main characters this time. I would eat that up because, to be told, they're my favorite characters of the trilogy (sorry, Kane and Arwen!).
All in all, Kate Golden is an author to look out for. I'm excited for her next releases and am definitely going to read them. Oh, and my favorite book would surely be the first one!
