Okay, I did enjoy this more than Cal and Scottie's story - Rowan and Vi are great, loved their communication between each other as well, the flashbacks were a joy to read and the book really felt like these two had known each other for 10 years, they're so layered in their characters so it was lovely to read about their romance and their second chance.
HOWEVER. The jealous ex trope is prevalent throughout, in both flashback with Kyleigh, and present day with Troy. It SUCKS to read about aaaaaaaand it annoys me greatly when this trope is used so if it annoys anyone else, not this book.
Now onto book 3! Xander and Teddy's story, which I have high hopes for with how they've been in the background the past two books.

Rowan is the living embodiment of the saying “if he wanted to, he would.” He was there for Violette in any way she would let him. He stepped up whenever he could for her and her kid. I believed in their history and the path to a second chance. It was a little drab in the plot progression.

Oh my lord do Rowan & Violette have my heart. These two have so much history and so much pain between them. When Violette moves back to town, Rowan’s determined to get his girl back. I absolutely fell head over heels for him right alongside Violette and her daughter. I adore Rowan and Hollie together and I loved getting to see Rowan & Violette’s history and how they got to where they are. I devoured it in a matter of hours, and just loved every second.
