 Quick and enjoyable read.

Dante is an assassin with a heart of gold. His best friend Matteo has been sent to prison on trumped up charges and he feels somehow responsible, so he offers to watch out for Matteo's sisters.

Jen is going through a rough patch. Her ex-fiancee cheated on her, her brother's in jail, her grandmother died and her vineyard home is under threat.

When Dante appears he realises Jen might need help. He pretends to be 'Dan' applying for a farmhand position and moves into the worker's quaters.

Soon it becomes clear that the various little problems Jen has been having around the farm are actually targeted attacks. Dante knows he will stay and do everything to protect Jen because of his promise to Matteo, but also because he has found himself falling in love with the brave and down-to-earth Jen.

This book made me laugh, straight from chapter one. It was sweet and silly but had enough storyline that I enjoyed reading the mystery unravel. The only part I found slightly unusual was that the whole thing was written in the present tense, which took a little time to get used to.

This book contains a descriptive love scene.

Killer Instincts by Tawna Fenske, book one in the Assassins in Love series is a best friend’s little sister story that was difficult to put down. It is a love story packed with action and suspense, along with a few laugh out loud scenes, as Jen and Dante try to figure out the source of all the sabotage happening to the farm/winery. Dante, Matteo and Sebastian are best friends who work righting wrongs for a secret group. Matteo asks Dante to watch over his youngest sister Jen while he is in prison. Due to a misunderstanding that works out well for Dante, he ends up working for Jen on her farm/winery. Dante knew he was in trouble being that he was attracted to Jen; plus Matteo told him no funny business with his sister. Her ex fiancée and his new fiancée keeps coming over to her property to get what he feels he is owed. The one thing that was true was that he made the best wine. The property and the business were her grandmother’s before she died and left it to Jen; she is so special trying to hold onto her family's land. Scary things start happening to Jen, and I was glad Dante was around to help and protect her. These two are drawn to one another, despite their best efforts to keep their distance; there was just no denying their feelings. They were passionate, compassionate, loyal, and protective, either about her animals, her land, or each other. There is a strong magnetic attraction between Jen and Dante as well as sizzling chemistry that could power the farm and wine making facility. Jen is such a caring person as seen by her misfit group of animals and how she is with her siblings Dante might be amazingly tough but when it comes protecting Jen he is at the top of his game. I loved watching these two fall in love despite Dante believing he doesn’t deserve Jen. I highly recommend Killer Instincts to other readers and can’t wait for the next book.

Killer Instincts is the first fun book in the Assassins in Love series. I laughed and cheered on this Assassin with a heart of gold. This delighful book will have you swooning as this big tough man is brought to his knees by the one woman he is not allowed to fall for and one Zsa Zsa Gabor. But there are moments of suspense to give the story another layer.

I can't wait to get stuck into the rest of the series.

A great read. Dante is doing a friend a favor, but he never expected what happens next. I loved Jen and Dante together. I do enjoy an apposite attract romance and boy was this a good one. I also loved the animals. A huge plus for me. This book had enough action to grab me and keep me on the edge of my seat at times. I enjoyed the humor. I'm already hooked on this series and can't wait for more especially Teo.
