It's interesting meeting Griffith, though we know he's going to be betrayed again in the future.

Pacing was good, though slower than the previous volume for obvious reasons, it's clearly intentional and gives more time to get to know Guts as a character, which I'm glad of

I am for sure interested in seeing how the things set up develop, especially the dynamic between Guts and Griffith considering that whole deal in the third volume. Speaking of, it is kind of insane how homoerotic they made almost every single interaction between those two and uhhhh I guess we shall see where that ends up going (I imagine nowhere good).
Looking forward to getting to know the Band of the Hawk better in future volumes and seeing how things get worse, but have cool action happen at the same time. I get the feeling I might enjoy this more after the fact, as it probably sets up a fair few future things and I will get to know the characters better so I guess we shall see.
