Expectations were the downfall of this book, I expected more intrigue and suspense for a follow up to The Firm with the McDeeres, but instead the book felt like a bit of a let down. There was suspense, sure, but it didn’t excite me nearly as much as the prior novel.

I really wanted to like this book because I loved The Firm. But, this is just like Grisham wrote a new book and added the McDeeres names into the characters. Very little felt like a sequel.
Also, on the audiobook I really disliked how the narrator voiced the female characters.

It was fun to see Mitch and Abby back in action. It wasn't my favorite book by Grisham, but it was clearly enjoyable. It is worth you short investment.

It had some ups and downs. I was kind of expecting more after The Firm but it was a decent follow up.
I normally don't leave a review but I was disappointed with this novel. It did not live up to all of the hype. It was an o.k. read. The end just sort of "fell off".
I read The Firm in junior high, I think, and loved it and was nostalgically delighted by the idea of a sequel all these years later. This book is not good but it was fun to read. And I read it in one sitting on a flight, which is exactly what it deserves.
