The first part was pretty bland, but it picked up around the half mark, and it ended up being quite nice and cute! Pretty pleased with it overall ~
Siege Ettiquette by Katie Cotugno - loved the locked in bathroom old school friends reunion. Could feel the charge and liked that in the dialogue you could feel the tension.
Print Shop by Nina Lacour - good to see a gay MC and loved the setting of an old print shop. The story writing did feel cheesy and didn't really like this short story’s version of love at first sight… idk, felt a bit staged?? I don’t believe that you can scroll someone’s social media pages and fall in love (not figuratively, literally).
Hourglass by Ibi Zoboi - yes for the plus sized girly representation! And 6 foot 5", yaaas tall dark goddess moment. Okay I was really loving this and then the ending… what ending?! WTH, all this hype for the prom and we don't even get to see the moment? Felt like our MC was done dirty a bit.
Oomph by Emery Lord - Okay this is my favorite one so far. Love the female female romance, set in an airport, and the idea of the oomph feeling. It didn't start from cute to cheesy and felt way more realistic than the others.
Books at the End - Okay, to be fair it's quite UNFAIR of me to lump the last four-ish books together BUT I liked them all. It's kind of annoying really that I made my way through a bunch of more mediocre reads before getting to a small handful of ones that I like.
Overall, I don't mind this reading experience. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it, unless you're okay with super cheesy quick burn stories, but I don't mind having another anthology under my belt. It feels like anthologies are often going to have some you like and some you don't.

3.5
Abandoned at about 40% (read first four stories plus The Dictionary of Us, which was my favorite).
I have a love/hate relationship with short story collections. I think I thought this collection would be a little cuter? More likely, more realistic? Less YA? I’m not sure what, but it just wasn’t as enjoyable (compelling?) as I hoped.

This was an adorable collection. Some stories were better than others and i'd give the whole thing 3.5ish stars, overall it was a fun cute read. Some of my favourites:
Oomph by Emery Lord was the absolute cutest story, the banter between these characters as they're stuck at an airport was so fun. I'd love a full novel of these two perfectly adorable girls.
Somewhere That's Green by Meredith Russo was so good and deals with an important subect, the ability for a trans person to use the correct bathroom, and the ending was absolutely perfect.
The Way We Love Here by Dhonielle Clayton wasn't a favourite favourite but it stands out as being very unique. I'm very interested in the island this was set.
The Dictionary of You and Me by Jennifer L. Armentrout was cute, if a bit predicatble. The banter wasn't as good as Oomph but I loved the storyline.

Excuse me, I really loved this book and my heart bursted with love after every chapter. I cried one time and that almost never happens to me with books.
Also the stories itself are so amazing, cute and diverse. In sexuality but also in these characters. I need more of these stories.

A couple stories had me squeal in excitement and cuteness, and others i hated so much i had to take loooong breaks in order to continue the book.
I think i would have enjoyed this more a couple years back, when i was a teenager, as opposed to now, in my twenties. Some meet cutes weren’t cute, some characters were cringy or annoying, but i mean, it s a cute book about love, and i thought it was cute, and loving.
The few i liked were very nice stories though.
3/5
