Definitely engaged with a couple of these stories more than others.

I seriously want about 90% of these short stories to become full books. So good!

I wanted to like this more than I actually did, although I think the fault lies more in my aging out of YA romances than the stories themselves. At 34, and almost certainly forever a children's services librarian on the lower end of the age range, it's probably about time, right? One story in particular wa maddening in it's shortness (Hourglass) and others just did not get me in the right heartspot (The Intern), but in all of them I appreciate the wide spectrum of loves represented. How different than what was available to me in my own teens, how important it is to have a selection of meet cutes for just about everyone on the love spectrum. Favorites: Say Everything, The Department of Dead Love, The Unlikely Likelihood of Falling in Love.

A series of short stories all surrounding the moment when you meet someone for the first time. Like the title has within it, this book was so cute!

Julie Murphy's story was my favorite, and I'm not even surprised after reading the entirety of the book and looking back at the authors. Julie Murphy always hits the spot for me!

It’s an anthology of short stories, so be prepared to feel a lot very fast, but also to have wildly different opinions on each individual story. Some of them were absolute winners — Print Shop, Click, Oomph, and the Department of Dead Love stood out to me. There’s also some stories I’d rate substantially lower.

I’d recommend this to fans of romance, short stories, and (for a few, not all of these) LGBTQ+ romance.

Audiobook

I really like the short story “Click” I thought it was really cute even though the lady in that one was a tad annoying.

I also like the famous digger guy and the one about the transgender girl as well.

3.5 stars

I was in the mood for some cute contemporary romance when I picked up this book. Some of the stories delivered, others not so much. I'm still not entirely sure if short story collections are for me, as I usually end up liking only a few and will probably forget about those pretty quickly. But it was a nice book and definitely managed to entertain me. I was a little sad about having no stories with two boys falling in love, but there were a few with two girls which was great.

This book was unfortunately such a let down. It took me weeks to get through all the stories and I really had to power through the second half. I kept thinking there would be a story to save it. The Unlikely Likelihood Of Falling In Love and Printshop are the only two that really stand out to me as good and memorable. The last story was also good but I think it mostly made an impression since it was the last one.
The premise of this collection is really good- I’m a sucker for a quick little fluff story, my favorite book is One More Thing, and I frequently read fan fiction! But it just didn’t do it for me. A lot of the stories simply fell short for me to where I was disinterested in the stories or where the characters went.
I don’t really think I’ll be recommending it to anyone.
