This is the first book in the Shadow Bound Queen series, and is inspired by Norse mythology and Vikings. Sexy fae Vikings do I need to say more? It has Hades and Persephone, Beauty and the Beast vibes, and is slow-burn enemies to lovers fantasy romance with a burn-the-world-down-for-her male. The series builds in steam and is filled with magic, myth, and delicious tension it's a trilogy and has a lot of twists and turns.

I enjoyed this book. There was little fluff. The ending was a big cliff hanger which I enjoy, and the author sprinkles in a little mystery as you're reading

This review if for the first 3 books in the series, which combined feel like the first half of a novel. It felt unfinished, not like a cliff hanger more just really short and very little happens.
Spoilers:
The whole tournament thing is very goblet of fire, like literally the tasks are plucked from HP (i.e. pulling small figurine of magical creature from hat, having to retrieve something dear that ends up being a person, task at the bottom of the lake...).
It's like a slow burn without the burn (like with this little plot could we at least have some spice or even tension?!).

Very short but it was a nice change to read something that didn't feel like it had a lot of extra writing. Really like the story. There were some basic writing confusions that typed me up but didn't detract from the book too much.
As most of the books I get… I picked this one solely on the cover. I was drawn to the colors and the raven on it. Fae? Multiple courts? Norse mythology? Heck yes. I loved this book and could barely put it down. Can’t wait to read the next one in this series.
