** Thank you so much to Gay romance reviews and Fae Quin for the ARC **
The first sentence in this book. Sent. me. howling!
This was the first time I’ve seen a s*x toy as a character and that boy brought us a lot of joy! “Cloudy With a Chance of Bad Decisions” is funny, deep and all the spice we need. George and Alex are just two idiots who are perfect for each other, but for some reason, their banter starts right from the first chapter, and they just can’t seem to get it right. George is shy, Alex loves to make George mad. Their fights are amazing and their families are adorable!
George needs to go back to his hometown for his ex-boyfriend's wedding to Alex’s sister. His life is not perfect in NY, his current ex is a pain in his ass at work and he was never affectionate with George. His family tries to set him up with the bride’s sister, but when George finds out it’s Alex, he shuts him down. Alex, on the other hand, finds George fascinating and when he sees his mask coming down and witness George vulnerability, Alex’s heart is clearly in danger of falling in love.
I loved Alex! Even though they’re both two idiots, they’re very adorklabe idiots. Alex just wants a man to spoil. George has never been spoiled, quite the opposite, so when Alex starts treating George as his boyfriend (even though it is fake), George starts to see what he has been missing with his idiot of an ex. Alex is kind, he cares a lot about George’s feelings and while we see a lot of vulnerable moments from George, Alex is not immune to that either. He also suffered from past relationship and asks George to be honest, which he is. There is no miscommunication here. Alex worships the sh!t out of George by spoiling him and it is amazing to see how George reacts when he is showered with praise and public display of affection.
The scenes where Alex learns that George is into k!nky scenes and studies to make sure he doesn’t screw up anything and make his experience pleasurable? *Chefs kiss
This is not a spoiler btw, there is a lot of exploration of k!nks and in a healthy way. Again Alex researches things, George is able to explore his fantasies because he found someone who loves the same things he does. It bring me a lot of joy to see characters being happy.
“Cloudy With a Chance of Bad Decisions” is a must read if you love something cute, spicy, I promise there will be laughs, some tears and a lot of hearts being melted thanks to Alex and George’s charm towards each other!

George is on his way home for the first time in almost a decade to attend his ex’s wedding. His hopes for a relaxing trip are thwarted when a dildo related mishap ends with him sharing a flight with the most infuriating man he’s ever met. Alex is just as attractive as he is annoying and there’s something about having his undivided attention that makes George feel all sorts of uncomfortable - he can’t wait to get off this flight so he never has to think about Alex again.
Imagine George’s surprise when he arrives home to discover that the man he’s going to be sharing a tent with is none other the man he just spent hours trying to ignore on his flight. This wedding just got a lot more complicated.
The plot of this is pretty simple considering it’s over 500 pages. The book really concentrates on our mc’s - their insecurities, quirks and pasts. It’s also packed to the brim with cute and quirky side characters who are all rooting for the romance to take place. This is really just a super sweet romcom with filled with character growth and cute shenanigans. There’s a tiny bit of angst towards the end but readers aren’t left hanging for very long and the HEA is super syrupy sweet just like the rest of the book.
I’ll also just add that the spice in this was SPICING. I expect nothing less from Fae at this point but this was like a smorgasbord of ridiculously hot spicy tropes. Alex has to have one of the absolute filthiest mouths ever. I particularly loved the almost unhinged amount much time he spent thinking about biting George (I loved it even more when actually bit him). Don’t even get me started on the pet names, I already have a thing for “kitten” but “Duchess” was just too much, the cute aggression was almost overwhelming. Literally the only disappointment I had with this was that we didn’t actually get a scene that fully utilised George’s lingerie collection, but I’m sure I’ll get over it eventually .

This book was meaty, spicy, and delightful - kinda like Alex. Quite a bit longer than the usual light romance, it takes place over a week and so somehow manages to be instalove and yet also slow burn (because it’s over 600 pages).
The summer camp for adults vibe was fun, and the side characters were entertaining. I *think* his sister is trans but it’s only hinted at never made a major plot point, which is a nice change because it doesn’t matter!! Trans characters just existing as their gender is excellent representation.
There’s a lot of talking about the spicy parts, especially the kinkier spicy parts, which (as is mentioned in the book itself) is a) incredibly important to represent and b) only makes the spice spicier!
The hurt-comfort and grump-sunshine of these two also meshed nicely together. I love the idea that there is someone out there who just *fits* you whether you’re looking for that or not.
This was overall a really enjoyable read. A bit of a CW for semi-derogatory mis-naming of body parts, ‘breeding’, and slut-shaming, but all used in a consensual way.
I received an ARC of this book from
GRR and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Moderate: Emotional abuse, Infidelity, Toxic relationship
Ohhhh, I loved this book. I loved Alex. I loved George. I loved all of the side characters. From the mortification-driven animosity at the airport to the live confessions in the pouring rain on the side of the road, these boys had me laughing and swooning and tearing up. Poor sweet George needed someone like Alex so fucking badly and Alex needed someone who needed him as much as Georgie did. These two were so cute together. I loved how they continued to snipe at each other even after they both decided they would accept being set up by their families. Their chemistry together was off the charts, and I was living for the delicious spice in this book! Alex went about researching how to be a good, safe dom for George, and he did everything perfectly right. George was able to let down his walls and trust that Alex would take care of him and I just couldn't get enough of them! The miscommunication/denial in this book wasn't too terribly torturous, thank goodness. It was annoying but it was over fast enough. Everything about this book was just so so good and you should go read it. Like yesterday.
