This one is amazing.

Terrific, terrifying, heartbreaking

I’ve read hundreds of MM hockey novels. Most are ok, some are very good. This book is fantastic. Beautifully written, realistic, heartrending. I was crushed by its ending and it couldn’t have ended any other way.

I’m wrecked. I will read it again. It’s just terrific.

4.5 because the ending felt weirdly abrupt, but man this was so good

Absolutely beautiful.

❤️

II picked this book due to the high rating and went in blind.

I was 80% in before realizing how fucked I was going be. It was heartbreaking and the pain kept coming.
(So much for my mandatory HEA rule)

I will never Re-read this book and will probably never recommend it

I enjoyed the book, though I wasn’t a huge fan of the worrying style and lack of dialogue. I did like how authentic it felt. I didn’t feel like I was in a book. More like someone’s real life was laid out before me. You knew everything Mike was thinking and going through. I was frustrated with and for him. Happy with and for him. Angry with and for him. A ton of emotions for this grumpy grump that refused to let anyone change him but felt deeply. I won’t ever reread it because it’s a bit depressing, but I like how it felt like real life.

This is in my top 5 of books I’ve read this year. I found it through several posts in which readers said it made them cry/wrecked them/etc. {I’ve got to find those posts} Between the cover image and the author’s note at the beginning, I thought I knew what heaviness might be coming.  Not even close.

I wasn’t ready for Mike. Or Liam. Or Mike and Liam’s story. This book  punched me in the heart. It did wreck me and I immediately wanted to read it again. There is significant spice and heat but this story is not the typical and currently popular hockey “romance”. Check the warnings, guard your heart, and settle in for this story.
