Reminds me a lot of Stockholm Syndrome, both in the way it's written and the personalities of the main characters. Which means I loved it. Gave me all the feels, so it gets 5 stars from me.

A story about the inexorable march of disability and being loved just as relentlessly. Read this if you want to be destroyed emotionally.

Nothing like the cliche sappy romance book you think it will be but is instead something so beautiful and so heartbreaking yet so endearing. I am sobbing and might not stop. I will think about this book for a really long time. It is so worth the read.

This was a remarkable read. Nothing like the sports romances I have read. Really unlike any book I have ever read. The amount of emotion that this book had pouring out of me, would have made sense if the dialogue was overcome with the MC’s spotting their love for one anything, but that did not happen. If it did happen, I am not sure how I would have been able to function after it was over. So, Liam is an 18 year old rookie called up to play on Mike’s hockey team. Mike finds he has a shadow in Liam, and then they start a lust affair in Mike’s eyes. Liam of course falls in love with Mike, but Mike is not having it. Then Mike gets injured and pushes Liam away. They find their way back to each other, but it is far from a happy ending. Like I said this book slowly knicks your heart, and then it starts to really get battered, then by the very end, your heart is just obliterated, and as I am typing I am still tearing up, because ya, it is sad. Really, really love Liam, and Rogers is awesome too. Mike you obviously love, and just want him to be happy. You want the world for Liam though, and he is just happy to be with Mike, however Mike will let him.

Mike, the main character, is definitely a grumpy guy and I can have trouble with grumps. But despite this, Thrown Off the Ice has a great story and comes off as a very real love story. It gets quite emotional near the end. This book is definitely one I will have to reread in the future.
