3.5/5 - after reading the first, I couldn't wait to get my hands on the second. though the writing was a bit juvenile, I still really liked it- you should definitely check this out if you enjoyed the first! not the greatest read, but still interesting enough to keep me going.

It's a bit better then the first. The story itself is quite simple and it's very predictable how the story develops, but I did enjoy it. It's an easy book/series in between other books you have to read.

2.5

The first one was definitely my favorite but I loved visiting my Disney favorites

Slightly better than the first book, still 3 stars for me though. The plot is more complicated and excited, but the ending is a bit disappointed.

I absolutely loved the first book and this just helped for me to like the series. It is a bit suspenseful and detailed

Beter dan boek 1
Past heel goed tussen film 1 en 2

“We’re the villains you root for in the story.”

I enjoyed this a lot. It wasn't perfect, but it was good. I wish the big quest at the end that the four villain kids go on had come up earlier. I feel like it went a bit quickly and wasn't written as well as the rest of the adventure. You definitely root for them, but I feel like the four are really past being villains. They are good guys now. They still struggle a little, but not nearly as much.

Loved meeting new villain descendants. Also other descendants as well. I really hope Genie's daughter makes it into the next movie. I love Genie so I'm biased there. I have some questions about neverland and neverland descendants, but that can wait. I absolutely love that there are Camelot descendants.Thank you The Sword and The Stone. Merlin was fantastic in this story. There may be greek god descendants since Hercules has a descendant mentioned in the book. There is so much potential for expanding the world. It makes me excited.

This is a great adventure story. The story was strongest there. You don't get too much character development until the end I feel. The focus is more on the adventure. The return to the isle. The challenges trying to figure out what happened to their parents. it was all really fun. I read through this book really fast.

I liked Ben's part as he investigated the strange occurrences in the kingdom. His adjustment to being king at such a young age is great to see too. Definitely, wish Chad Charmington had been a long for more of it. I think there was potential to show Chad as more than just the snobby guy we see him as. I won't believe a turnaround for his character when we don't get to see more of his personality. Seeing more of his friendship with Ben could have helped with that a lot.

The end of this book left some great options for the future. Where the talismans are at the end. Aurodon may need to prepare for more villains to attack in the future. The next movie will be good and I definitely hope we get more books in the world.

Terug naar Dwaaleiland, het vervolg op de Disneyfilm Descendants, een sprookjesachtig en magisch avontuur! Lees hier mijn recensie: http://nerdygeekyfanboy.com/recensie/recensie-terug-naar-dwaaleiland-descendants-2/

Actual rating: 2.75/5 stars.

This was cute and entertaining, but really not much else. It mentioned events from the movie a lot, which felt really awkward, and the only characters that seemed to still have their personalities were Ben and Chad. The plot was silly and very easily solved by the core four, especially the whole four talismans bit.

I also felt like the whole Anti-Hero thing was unrealistic. Like, maybe on a smaller scale it would make sense but almost every child? That was a cool twist, but I couldn't really see it being true.

I think for the target age group, this would have been a bigger hit. It was fun, with familiar characters doing their PG thing. It just wasn't one of the really good middle grade stories that can be enjoyed by older age groups, too.

Still, I could be persuaded to read the next one.
