Wow!
Let me just start by saying that I don't usually read thrillers/horror because they scare me too much. This book was worth every exclamation, cringe and shudder it induced in me. I'm horrified and thrilled.
Thomas Harris, you evil man, why do I want to keep reading when you freak me out so?
The characters are great and there's such a mix of emotions through the pages.

a wild ride!!! deffo not for the faint of heart, but if you have a fairly strong stomach, this is a super satisfying and fun freakfest of a thriller. perfectly paced for this kind of story and never veers into feeling too exploitative given the subject matter.
not enough hannibal and too much dollarhyde for my liking.

I read the book after watching the movies and the TV series, so I wasn't surprised by the plot. I was interested in the way the book was written and how close the movies and the TV series are to the original, which is quite different. I love this universe, so I was happy to read about it. The only thing is that I'm used to the fact that many characters in the series are women (while in the book they are men). It's logical for the time when it was written, but a bit unpleasant
still so good SO GOOD so clever...if only hannibal s3 could've been true to the book :(
A fun page-turner that's somewhat poorly paced with a somewhat odd structure. Improved upon in some ways by both film adaptations but the book's epilogue is much more satisfying.
"At a time when other men first see and fear their isolation, Dolarhyde’s became understandable to him: He was alone because he was Unique. With the fervor of conversion he saw that if he worked at it, if he followed the true urges he had kept down for so long—cultivated them as the inspirations they truly were—he could Become."
