Vanaf het begin ben je al hooked. Het is geen detective waarbij je langzamerhand er achterkomt wie het heeft gedaan, maar je wordt meteen meegenomen in iedereens perspectief. Dit maakt het echt verslavend.
Sommige delen waren een beetje vaag en ouderwets, maar goed; het is een boek uit 1981. Ik had het kunnen verwachten.

Somehow I've made it to my mid 30s without watching Silence of the Lambs, so this book is my first encounter with Hannibal Lector. I enjoyed it! I always thought it would be more "horror" than "thriller" but this book was more the latter

The story was intriguing and I enjoyed the characters, including the titular Red Dragon serial killer. Maybe one day I'll finally get around to the movies.

I’ve seen all the movies a dozen times but was recommended the series to read, as reported much better than the movies.  This first novel in the series was terrific, truly descriptive, creepy and I felt it went into the mind, the descriptions and the relationships a bit more.  Excellent start to the series.
