How freaking cute is this?! Such a fun retelling of the Shakespeare work. Thoroughly enjoyed every page!
This was very cute, but I think potentially forgettable.
The Twelfth night references were put on very thick, but did make me want to watch She’s the man again.
I am really curious to read Olivie Blake’s books now !
I really liked the dual narratives, I liked both characters, but it did get a bit too earnest in the end.

as a certified nerd™️ (i did start a dnd club at my school), i’m so so glad i grabbed this at the airport because i LOVED it. twelfth knight is a wonderful coming-of-age/romance. it’s wonderfully written and beautifully diverse.
i absolutely adored all of the characters. as i mentioned before, it was diverse in so many ways. our characters were made up of various ethnicities, religious beliefs, and interests. all united, by the end, through a love for conquest. (a tabletop rpg) they went through growth and had personalities that were shown through their actions. not just the narrators telling you about them. speaking of our narrators, hearing their perspectives and seeing their growth was delightful. and their budding friendship then romance was justttt <33333 (i love them so much) not to mention, even characters that were only on for a page or two felt alive.
because it’s a twelfth night retelling, if you know the original, it is quite obvious how the story will go, but still it quite delighted me and i was so tense while waiting for her to reveal the truth to him. i love how the reveal was written. his level of anger was believable and justified, but he remained in character by being understanding. i also like how it wasn’t turned into a act three break up moment and they both worked through it quickly. it was similar enough, but also had enough of its own meat to warrant a wonderful retelling.
all in all, if you are a nerd/geek or love a good story about friendship and romance, or both; i would definitely recommend this. it had me giggling and kicking me feet. not just because violajack were so cute (EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE <3), but also because it was incredibly funny at times. i love this book so so much <3

AWWWW I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!
IT WAS AMAZING
She was so real and i loved her. An iconic feminist Queen!!
A Queen that our boy LOVED!!!
I love that for once she didn’t have to change, even though she’s portrayed as annoying and a bitch in the beginning, she really isn’t if you listen to what she’s saying and I loveeeee that this type of girl made it onto these pages.
I love how understanding and willing to hear her side of things. not just immediately assuming the worst of her.
This book was funny, with an interesting plot and well thought out characters that had depths that made them feel so real. Like all the characters were so well thought out it was amazing!
I relate a lot to her in this book and i think if i had read this as a teen i would have felt so seen. It was such a good book that brought up the problems a lot of girls go through.
AMAZING!!! SHOW STOPPING!!!!
10/10 would recommend!!!!

This is a cute book about two teenagers falling in love. It’s obvious the author enjoys this genre of rewritten Shakespeare YA novels based on little Easter eggs they sprinkle in. the author had fun with the nerdy world building. both of the main characters are a little insufferable in the beginning (it took me a few chapters to realize that Viola’s best friend is supposed to be Antonia, because the thoughts Viola had about Antonia were not great) but i thought it worked. They’re 17 years old and seniors in high school so it tracks. And they’re both (along with the side characters) clearly helping each other grow up. The coming of age was realistic, cute, and deserved. the author touches on racism and sexism in fandom, giving it a little bit of depth too.
