As soon as I finished the first book in this series, I put books 2 and 3 on hold at the library. Book 2 did NOT disappoint, and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. The mystery was intriguing and was satisfyingly solved, in addition to wrapping up a loose end from book 1. There are some odd British-isms, like in the first book, despite being set in Connecticut, but everything else was so compelling I let that slide. Can't wait to read the final book in the trilogy!

very predictable as was the first one. at least we got to see a little more of pippa's personality. it was a fun read but that's basically it. im not sure why everyone keeps saying there are a lot of plot twists because there really isnt. also PLEASE PLEASE stop with the pop culture references, its embarrassing.

This book is as much of a roller coaster of a mystery as the first, if no more so. Holly Jackson swiftly rose to become one of my top 5 favorite authors.

Pips journey through learning about herself is relatable, tense, yet staggeringly inspiring. She sticks to her guns and goals, no matter what. I empathize when she hurts and I celebrate her victories.

No spoilers in this review! You need to read it for yourself! Just know that nothing is as it seems… and the end will make you want to do nothing but turn the page to find out what’s next!

The way Holly does not dwell heavily on her characters past trauma or describing certain intense/dangerous situations happening in Pips present is a tricky balance that she succeeds so well in.

5/5 plot, character development, and pacing *chefs kiss* 100/100 would recommend

Made me feel many emotions in a good way, I was on the verge of tears while reading chapter 28. Super interesting plot-twist in the end too. Fast read & I loved the romance except it felt a bit repetitive at times. Thought about this book for a while afterwards because I really like the book. Personally, I though it was better than the 1st book

So just like the first one, there are tons of twists, and the ending was my favorite part. I would never guess it. Pip and Ravi's romance is still in the background simmering. (only fluff) I like the build-up to the court case. I wish we got Ravi's POV. I hope in the next book, she will move and go to college as her mom mentioned, just for a change of scenery but continue her podcast.
