When I first startet reading this book, I really liked the idea of it. But somehow the writing style, the characters and the story just didn't work for me!
I give this book 2.5-3 stars.

The premise is so cool. The execution could've been better.

You remember reading a novel where the two LIs hate each other so intensely, they're actually in love. This is a non-ironic depiction of that. It's my 13-year-old dream come true, she'd screamed if she knew this book existed.

Caden is a typical protagonist, so insecure and tortured. Dyl is a dummy. Jules is sort of a side character with side character-y attitude.

I felt the ending was so rushed. but I don't think the book was that much of disappointment. I'll read the spoiler-filled reviews now.

Lots of name dropping of brands, celebrities, and popular culture. Not sure if this'll hold up in later years.

So many questions:
Spoiler
Why is the compound so cold? Is this supposed to be happening in our world today or some alternate universe? Is there some special surgery that heals that freaking fast? Or were they out for a few weeks?

Annoyances:

Yes, the Starbucks manager should undermine his other employee to make the main character with no work experience feel better along with all the bro talk. Awesome management style. Along with the main character getting hired because his mom talked to the manager? What?

Pretty sure he drove his truck to Juliet's and then she drove him home. Then he still had his car?

There is one sentence in this book that I didn't like.
One.
That's all.

Okay so I really liked the beginning and I thought it was interesting but I found the main couple confusing and I honestly just didn't ship them. So the last hundred pages or so were kinda boring and I'm also realllllllly sick and tired of rebellions.

I loved this novel and really enjoyed reading it. My only wish is that the ending was a bit more elaborated on, instead of ending abruptly and cutting to an epilogue without that much information. Other than the lack of closure, I really enjoyed the concept and execution of the ideas.

I loved this book, I really did, but it loses a star for 1. not developing the side characters enough and 2. For the rushed ending.
I would have liked to see this as a duology, at least.

Did not live up to the expectations I was given. The plot was great, but the writing was somewhat flat when it came to the characters.
