I don't know.... I didn't love it. I wasn't sure if I should give it 3 or 4 stars... But I'll go with 3.5.
I just wanted more from Death and his lady, honestly. And I loved the character of Fate, but revealing the secret from the beginning just had me bored. And I didn't feel their relationship building... It kinda went from "I HATE YOU" to *LUST*. They never really had a trial or mystery that they worked through together where you got to see them grow to like each other, even though they knew they shouldn't. It was just hate to lust to I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT YOUUUU! And I didn't believe it. I had high hopes because boy did they detest each other in the beginning and it was DELICIOUS.... but it just didn't do it for me.
The ending was beautiful and I cried over the epilogue. That's the only reason I'm rating it so high.

came into the book not knowing it was a series until i was too far deep and couldn’t wait to read the first two before finishing this one. i absolutely loved it APART FROM:
1) the build up and then non-reaction of fate finding out blythe was life . she was so nervous to tell him and the whole build up was really good, but it missed the mark and was very anti-climatic that he didn’t react to the revelation almost at all ?
2) felt like the romance was too rushed. i did love them together admittedly but thinking in the first couple chapters it was going to be an enemies-to-lovers trope, they were barely ever enemies.
honestly i only have little qualms about blythe seeming weak. it annoyed me at times but feels realistic so

I found the first half of this book very slow and hard to get through. I really just wasn’t fond of the two main characters after Foxglove. Originally I wanted to rate it 4 stars because of this and because I felt the development of feelings between Blythe and Aris was a bit rushed and sudden however, the last quarter of the book really saved it and bumped up my rating. I raced through the send half of the book in only a few hours and just couldn’t put it down!!
I’m really looking forward to the next instalment when that is released!

Oh I was not ready for this to end!!! Love the relationship Blythe and fate had ! I cried at the end I chuckled in some spots I am so glad I read this series !! A must read
