Fun, bold, and surprising, Bride mixed fated mates romance with political intrigue and supernatural tension. The knotting element was unexpected in trad pub, but it fit the world, and I’m intrigued to see where the sequel goes.

I did not realise quite what I was getting myself in for when I started to read this! A very steamy read.
This is largely well-written and I enjoyed the first half. The MC is interesting: I like that she's a computer expert and that she's not particularly physically strong.
However, it felt like at the point at which the MC and love interest got together and started to get more physical, the plot became incredibly rushed and fell to the way side. This was about two thirds of the way in.
I was disappointed by this book by the end.

Really well done and enjoyable romance fantasy novel, with just the right amount of well paced spice. Finished it in a day , really easy to like the characters.

I think this is my first ever paranormal romance.
I was knot completely sure what to expect but I do trust Ali Hazelwood to write something entertaining.
I enjoyed the mystery side plot.
Glad this was my first read of the year - specifically chosen because this year I'll be a Bride.

This was my first introduction to Ali Hazelwood and I am pleased I decided to give this book a read! I really enjoyed the writing style and creativity.
Misery, an outcast Vampyre, is put into an arranged marriage to the Alpha of the local Were pack, in hopes to create an alliance between the two species. But Misery has her own reasons for agreeing to the match. Misery is an absolutely fantastic character. She is quirky, smart and sometimes says the funniest, often stupid and inappropriate, things. I love that Ali gave her a hacker/computer wiz job/interest and incorporates it so seamlessly into the plot.
Lowe, the Alpha Were on the other end of the arranged marriage, wants more for his people than the Alpha before him. He gets more than he bargained for when he commits to marriage with Misery. Neither of them expected much from the alliance beyond tension and possibly getting murdered.
Ana, Alex and Owen are stand out side characters for me. Ana, of course, adds so much to the plot and she’s such a silly, sweet girl. I do question that author’s knowledge of children though. She’s almost 7 but is written in a much younger sense. I have a 7 year old and Ana acts and talks more in line with my almost 4 year old. I love Alex and Misery’s budding friendship. And Owen is just so serious, yet I found his dialogues absolutely hilarious.
I really enjoyed the multiple plots going on to keep the reader entertained. Solving a mystery, keeping alliances, building new alliances, maintaining the pack, avoiding getting killed, all while an enemies to lovers romance is blossoming. Such a fast paced read and kept me engaged and wanting to breeze through to find out what’s next. I did not see that Serena part coming, such a great plot twist.
The romance was sweet and swoon-worthy and I find good banter irresistible. A forbidden love that brought out some super steamy scenes and some interesting inter species intricacies. I’m not entirely sure how I feel about “the knot” but I wasn’t mad at it. A bit more could have been put into their chemistry outside of the bedroom though.
