I’m throwing all the stars at this book. It made me think, question, and self-reflect. There were so many moments when I found myself wishing I had a photographic memory—so I simply took a photo instead.

This book had some catchy moments, but overall, I felt quite disconnected from it. It is very focused on America, American issues etc. I wasn’t expecting that, and found a lot of the book hard to relate to. I think sometimes American authors forget that they have an international readership. It was fine, but not what I was looking for. I still think Lindy is cool, though.

I read this to get the challenge badge. It was a quick read. It was published in 2019, and it feels so naive back then. Would be interested to hear an update from this author, which I am sure is out there

“We’ve won this war before and we will win it again.
Tomorrow can be the first day.
The witches are coming, but not for your life. We’re coming for your lies. We’re coming for your legacy. We’re coming for our future.”

This books message was a crucial one. Most of the chapters made valid points, were supported by research, and were overall written very well. However, I did find some problems with this book. In the Ted Bundy chapter, I thought finally! A person who isn't romanticizing a serial killer and rapists! But then she went on to brag about....being a serial killer enthusiast since Wikipedia. Most of the chapter consited of this condtraidcty in some form, hence why it didn't recvience a higher rating from me.

I was laughing for most of this book. Of course reading it now is a little weird, since some of the specific instances are dated. It also made me sad/angry just re-processing the awful state we’re in today, and there were some parts I skipped due to triggering content
