It took about a fourth of the book for me to get into it, but once I was hooked, I couldn't put it down.

Juliet's story was captivating and by the end, I was as invested in her memoirs as Katherine was. Katherine's journey towards happiness, the unique residents of Angels Cove, and everything about Juliet had me neglecting everything else until I finished.

Many books tackle love and loss, but few successfully portray it. The Last Letter from Juliet did this and so much more. The strong, independent character of Juliet, who persevered through so much, has inspired me. Her "I can do anything" attitude is how I aspire to be.

I'm glad I pushed through the first bit of this book, because it was so worth it.

Beautiful, heartwarming story.Thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.
The story has two parallel storylines and though I typically get bored with stories like that and tend to flip through one,I didn’t with this one!!
This story is well rounded.

The whole time I was reading this book I kept thinking of Juliet looking like this...

I am a big Bette Davis fan and for some reason, while I was reading about Juliet and Edward (starting in 1938), I kept picturing and hearing Ms. Davis and Gary Merrill in all about Eve.

I absolutely loved this book. I am always looking for stories like this, it is so different. It is filled with wonder, mystery to an extent, and so much heartbreak. It was a real tearjerker. The characters are so real that I felt I knew them all and the Juliet character actually broke my heart throughout. Poor Juliet is turning 100 and wants nothing more than to fly in her airplane but everyone thinks she is too old for such a thing.

This is another heartfelt and beautifully written story from Melanie Hudson. I couldn't wait for this book to come out, and it was certainly worth the wait. Once again, Ms. Hudson has crafted a cast of characters you can't help but care for, and a story that is at once heartbreaking and hopeful, raw and tender. I devoured every lovely page. I am not going to go into any further detail other than to recommend this to you. I am sure you will love it as much as I did.

Thank you NetGalley, Melanie Hudson, Harper Impulse, Killer Reads and One More Chapter for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an impartial review; all opinions are my own.

I'm going to get this out of the way first: This book needed major editing. There are so many errors throughout the book, which I rarely comment on because there are always going to be some that slip through the cracks, but the sheer volume of errors in this book was inexcusable. This publisher should be ashamed that they let this book go to press like this -- missing words, incorrect words, extra words, missing letters in words, etc., etc.

Now that I've gotten that off my chest (ha ha), I thoroughly enjoyed this book! There is a lot of humor throughout and I enjoyed the flashbacks into time as Katherine follows along discovering Juliet's story. The writing style drew me in quickly with the humor and how the author approached the heavy subject of WWII by managing to deal with some of the aspects of that but still keep things light. I enjoyed learning about the Spitfire Girls/ATA, another new aspect to WWII that I wasn't really aware of before now. Also, I never knew that Penzance was a real place, let alone that it was in England! ha! I would love to go visit this part of England now!

***Spoilers for Once Upon a Book Club Box***

**Warning-- Do NOT read these spoilers if you want to be surprised about the gifts if you purchased this subscription book. This list also contains some book spoilers as well.**

I received this book as part of my subscription to Once Upon a Book Club, which includes gifts to be opened as you come upon certain spots throughout the book. For this book, the gifts were as follows:

p. 24 - In a box designed to look like an airmail letter, with a picture of airplanes on the bottom of the box, a picture frame with a reproduction photograph of a woman pilot next to an airplane, with a reproduction of the tag Juliet had stuck to the frame describing the photo and why it's important to her.
p. 138 - A pink faux leather clutch with a reproduction inside it of the advertisement for women pilots that Juliet receives from her friend
p. 304 - A replica compass like Juliet's, with the poem inscribed on the back, given to her by her father that she goes to get out of the pocket of her jacket that Anna accidentally took
p. 391 - A mustard yellow scarf, representing the one Juliet wears when she goes up in the Tiger Moth for the last time with Sam
p. 395 -A replica of the letter Juliet writes for Katherine at the end of the book (I still hate these replicas of what I already can read in the book; they're an absolute complete waste of my money)

Bonus: Autographed bookplate from the author.

Once Upon a Book Club Box 40 Books 2020 Reading Challenge tag: A Book Set on an Airplane (adapted to fit the prompt since the entire book doesn't take place on an airplane, but a lot of the story revolves around Juliet being in an airplane)

It gave me all the same feelings as Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society did.

What a story!!! I cannot believe what I’ve read, such an enthralling tale! I didn’t put this down. I binge read to the very last page and cried so many tears. This was a beautiful story and I would recommend to anyone. I may even put this as a must read.

An absolutely wonderful book. Full of joy and sadness, just the right balance. A great book to read while curled up on a snowy day.

Could have been a better book if there weren’t grammatical and spelling errors in every chapter. I don’t understand how this version made it to publication.

Loved it but there were so.many.typos!

Juliet’s chapters were great, I didn’t want them to end. Katherine’s chapters were so boring in comparison, I dreaded whenever they came up. The main reason for the 3 stars.... THE EDITING!?! What the heck? I don’t think I’ve ever read a book with so many typos and errors.
