Catori how I missed you! Olivia you are a champ this is even better than I expected. I just finished Rowan Wood Legends and I officially need the next book TODAY! I was never really big on fantasy books until this series was dropped in my lap like a birthday gift I NEEDED.
Rowan Wood Legends picks up right where book one left off, like you didn’t wait months to read it! The book is filled with characters that you find yourself wanting to love but not fully trusting, rooting for and cringing with. It is a magical twister of fairies and hunters that you want to actually get stuck in. The story is full of answers that were left unanswered from the previous book but you also have a set of new questions that you cant wait to see answered in the next one. If You haven’t read the first book and this is your first encounter of this group you will find Catori to be authentic, strong a little quirky. Cat finds her voice stands on her own two feet and does not have a problem slapping people around a bit to proof her point. She is one Badass Chick! I feel like the Love triangle that I saw in book one has yet to form a solid straight line even though Cat does lock lips with SOMEONE but I will let you guess who.
All and all amazing people need to read this book and every other book that comes from this author there is not one book I have read that I have not loved hands down AMAZING!
15 days to go Pre-order it TODAY!

Wow! If book 1 enthralled me, then book 2 exhilarated me! The intense conflicts, whitty banter and heartbreaks in the sequel were so well done I couldn’t stop.
I loved that Catori has such an intense personality & wants to do what’s right even when she struggles with what that is. As she learns more about her family history and herself we see her open up and evolve.
Ace, well who doesn’t love Ace?

description

This book was slightly better than the first one. It felt a bit more edited. But I still constantly questioned the decisions the characters were making and the way they were acting. The whole thing was whiplash. Who to trust, who to fall in love with, if we are even mad at someone. I had no clue how to feel. But the editing was better and I think I feel like we are standing on more solid ground in this one (though I have said that before).

SPOILERS >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

But seriously, Catori is going from guy to guy. At the end of the last one I felt good with our standing with the hunter, but everything got turned around with this one. The way he acted when he learned the truth about his wife! Then he left when Catori was hurt! He just up and left and then he was mad at her? Even though he went off with another girl to "blow off steam" um, no sir. So now she has a knew guy and I like him but in my mind anything can happen. From Cruz to Kajika to Ace.

And the way Catori acts sometimes. I have no clue why she is so forgiving. But it definitely felt more cohesive than the first one.

***I received an ARC through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review***

I gave this book 5 stars. This book was 10 times better than the first book. I was so completely enthralled by the story that I honestly didn’t want to stop. I know I probably say that a lot about books, but I’m not even exaggerating this time.

I was reading and it was getting so good, I turned the page and it was at the Epilogue and I didn’t know what to do with myself.

I’m a bit over the love triangle in the first book. I also think the main character is over it too. Neither men in the love triangle are really that great and it seems like Cat has lost all interest in both of them.

What I did like was her crowning friendship with Ace. In the first book Ace was not my favorite character, i honestly didn’t like him all that much, but he has completely grown on me, as he has on Cat. I kind of want something to happen there, they do seem to care a lot for one another and he does appear at times of struggle to help her even though I’m pretty sure he has nothing to gain from it. I love Ace and I would love him with Catori.

We learn a lot more about Cat in this book, a lot of them good, but still some bad. Like the fact that she likes to eat her spaghetti with butter and ketchup. Who does that? Okay maybe a lot of people but it still seems gross to me. I felt a bit closer to her in this book despite her interesting choice in food.

I really don’t like Kajika. I know he’s all broody and some stuff went down with his wife and Borgo, but he acted like a complete prick to Cat even when none of it was her fault. He’s trying to fill this void that his wife caused, but he’s doing it at Catori’s expense. He’s my least favorite character in this series right now.

Overall, if you are at all interested in any book that’s paranormal or fantastical, this is definitely a book/series that you need to read. I highly recommend this.

I was provided an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Catori’s adventures with the faeries and hunters continue. People are still dying, shit is still going down. (Yep, that’s my summary.)

The world was still interesting and well built, we actually got more details about it, but the plot was so very boring. I started being entertained at like 70%, that’s when the story actually picked up…
I have really mixed feelings about most of the main characters… Like I can’t decide whether I like them or not…

All in all, the ending made up for the rest of the story but only partly; for most of the book, I simply didn’t care. About any of it.
