OH MY FREAKING GOD!!!
The intensity of this book was simply unparalleled. From start to finish, I was utterly captivated by the tale of a lost princess, a crumbling kingdom, and its fervent rebellions. Holly masterfully wove a narrative rich with magic and the allure of a hidden city, pulling me out of a long-standing reading slump. Now, the thought of waiting two months for the next book is almost unbearable.
The spice? The plot? The characters? And the betrayal? Yeah, I live for that shit!
Holly, I implore you—please release the next book as soon as possible. My desire for the continuation of this story is no longer a mere want; it has become an absolute NECESSITY!
I am soo ready for the next book!!!

I liked the plot of this book and thought the idea of someone being despised by both sides of the war was a really interesting idea.
I also liked Wren, Kai and to a certain extent Daycre.
What bothered me though was the way Daycre treated Verena. Throughout the whole book. I get that he doesn't trust her but he was unnecessarily violent and hurtful, to the point that I had to skip over large parts of the book. I hope that's going to change in the second book.
I also did't really like the smut. I think that's because it went from him insulting her and telling her how useless she is to full on smut within the same sentence (therefore i also skipped a lot of that).
However, I liked how the book ended and will read the second one to figure out more about the two love interests.
