I enjoyed this book. It drew me in as soon as I started reading. The story between Dacre and Nyra was enthralling. It has the perfect amount of spice and action, while still telling an amazing story. I cannot wait to read the next book, as the ending was left on a cliffhanger. 4.75 stars for me! I definitely want to read more of Hollys work and recommend this book to everyone!
I devoured this. It was everything I was expecting and anticipating, and I enjoyed every second of it. No massive twists or turns, but a good straightforward plot and enjoyable characters and dialogue. “Little traitor” is honestly in the top 5 terms of endearment now. I’m immediately starting the next book in the series.

hey so authors!!! having a character sleep with someone out of anger, especially someone who was a young virgin, and then immediately after call them horrible names and say terrible things to them is borderline assault! revenge sex is not cool! i already didn’t love dacre because of his attitude and he was honestly just boring but the final spice scene was so upsetting to read and i will not be picking up the next book. not to mention the consent was basically non existent. holly renee ur weird!

I’m typically a contemporary romance girlie and am sometimes intimidated by the world building of fantasy books, but that was definitely not the case here - I actually wish there had been a little bit more explanation of their magic system and the powers everyone has (or doesn’t have)! I also really appreciated the pronunciation guide at the front of the book and character art throughout!
I truly *cannot* wait for the hunted heir to come out in July!!!
